Juma vs Phenolic joint collars

As I'm going down the cue makeup rabbit hole I have a question on if Juma is a decent material for joint collars. It looks sort of cheapish to me but hard to tell by look and feel. Is one far better or far worse than the other? Thanks as always!

juma is too soft imo. ok for ferrules. not a builder but a few have told me this. need to ask stuff like this in Ask a Cuemaker section.
