Jump cue shaft question

Messing with building some jump cue shafts and have a few questions
1. Should the ferrule end be heavy. Say added a weight between the ferrule.
2) phenolic or G10.

I prefer Purple Heart shaft, Phenolic ferrule, water buffalo tip. Just my preference :) folks seem to like it.

Weight increases deflection. Deflection increases how easily you can jump. But there's a curve, add too much and the returns diminish.

Well said. And that fine line right before it starts to be too much is hard to find.
I use laminated maple and purple hart shafts as my two main jump break shafts with phenolic ferrule and leather tip combo.
