What specs do you think make a good jump cue?

What specs do you think make a good break cue?

Personally have never owned a Jump, Break, or Jump/Break Cue. I do use a Room Cue for Breaking most of the time when Playing 8, or 9 Ball. Normally try and find a 19-20 Ounce STRAIGHT Room Cue for Breaking. Educate me about Jump/Break Cue Please. As knowledge is POWER.

Why would you not own a jump cue?

Jump - Break

Good topic Willie, and one that has many opinions.

Personally I have tried combination and strictly specific use of each, and have found the following.

My jump cue is 41" and weighs 7oz. it is a mini version of my playing cue (zircote and curly segmented handle) has a phenolic tip and aluminum joint pin
with wood to wood. I feel it outjumps many of the name brand cues on the market. The jump shot has become one that i do not hesitate to use now!

The builder and I worked together to ensure the light weight, as I felt it was important. Another customer requested a copy of his playing cue same specs as mine but he wanted a s/s joint, came in at just over 10 oz, having tried it it just isn't as effective.

My break cue is 15 oz. with the same tip and ferrell, and it works as requested. Personally I prefer a light break cue for cue speed.

I tried the combo jump / break and did not have the positive results I was looking for with the jump shot. So I do think 2 seperate cues are the proper tools to have in the bag.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Both cues were locally made by Jett custom cues of Bradenton Fl

As stated I have newer owner a Jump, Break, or Break/Jump Combo Cue.

I am a social player, not competitive too much, and do not gamble on the game.

I would like to play better, but as I stated I use a House Cue for the Break, and have never done, tried, or though about a Jump Shot.

Like I said Educate me, as I have an Open mind I think.

Just have One Old Cue I have been playing with for years. That is in BAD NEED of Refurbishment. My next money out lay project.

Never said "not own a jump cue"
