Shawn, since you are one of the very BEST jump shot makers in the world can you give some advice on how it would be best to practice jump shots?

Also, please give us any other need to know info about them. Things like proper execution, aim point, size or weight of jump cue, etc.........

Thanks,

Mj

I look forward to this response. I spent YEARS not being able to jump at all. One day it donged on me that I was hitting the cue ball to low (as you look down onto the cue ball from an elevated position). I raised my aim point slightly and presto! I'm still not very acurate. I can hit them, but usually do not pocket them.

May I offer you some tips on jumping:

1) When lining up the jump, determine how high you must get to clear the object ball.

A) If you must clear the entire ball, focus your jump with a "center axis" hit (not center ball)

B) If you need only to clear a portion of the obstacle ball, focus your jump on how far you want the cueball to remain airborne before landing. Ideally, you want to land just inches in front of the object ball.

Good Luck,
