Jump shot question

I am trying to learn how the pros do this sort of side arm jump shot technique. I have tried it and duff every one of these attempts. I tried to find a U tube video but the ones I found only do the conventional way of doing jump shots. These jump shots I can do OK. Any suggestions?

Have you tried the dart technique?

Good question, I also jump ok using the other methods, but not the sidearm. Not enough speed in the stroke. SVB was the first I saw using it. Not saying he was first, just first I saw. Within a short period of time, almost all pros have adopted it. I think it has something to do with getting your head over the line of the shot.

Regardless of the technique you must be able to deliver the cue tip to center ball. With a phenolic tipped jump cue you can get a touch and a half 🥴 off center without misscue. Watching the professionals with the best jump skills you will see them using that to make the shot and draw shape. With the nature of the jump shot the power is delivered with the fingers and wrist.

I have tried the dart technique for close in shots when the cue ball is real close to the ball being jumped.

Are you getting good results with it? I normally see pro pool players use the sidearm technique as a replacement for the dart so I am thinking if you are good at the dart, there may not be a need for the side arm.
