i only play on bar tables and dont have my own cue. i can jump the cue ball easily but only the incorect 'scoop' way. i was just wondering if its even possible to jump the cue the correct way with a regular bar cue and if so how difficult is it? I've never seen anyone do it before

when i say the incorrect way i just mean from underneath which is illegal in my league. someone else wrote scooping somewhere else i just assumed thats what it was.

With a light bar cue its possible. The most common jump made with full cues is a partial ball. Its fairly easy to jump 1/2 ball or less.

There is another thread in the past week about jumping on a bar box. The difficulty is using the heavy cue ball on thinner slate.

You are correct, the term is "scooping", and it's generally illegal in most leagues and tourneys.
