World, please be with me in presenting YOUR future heroes from the Pool Capital of the World - the winners of the Junior Filipino Invasion!

CHAMPION - ELIJA ALVAREZ
2ND - ABAD SUPENA, JR.
3RD - ORLY BAYABAN
4TH - DEREK MAABA

.
The spirit of camaraderie, fair play, and sportsmanship ruled the momentous two-day event held at Gameball at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. The 32 youngsters all showed heart as they battled it out like never before. And not for money, mind you!

They played with courage and full resolution for that one-of-a-kind opportunity: to be trained and mentored, for at least a year, by the current coaches of the Philippine Billiard Team, the greatest pool players to emerge from the Pool Capital of the World – The Filipino Invasion!

.
Among the 32 young ones, these four champions stood out in the historic billiard competition – the first of its kind anywhere in the world! From day 1, the kids displayed class, poise, finesse, and nerves of steel. They were there for their dreams of playing someday for God, flag and family!

Congratulations, Elija, Abad, Orly, and Derek! I am happy and very proud of you! We all are! May this be the start of something special for all of you! Believe you me, the sky’s the limit on this one.

We all know you all play well, very well. But truth be told, you will become better - the very best you can be! You will all become dangerous on the green felt - all under the tutelage of Mr. Aristeo Putch Puyat and the guidance of the Filipino Invasion coaches - Efren Bata Reyes, Francisco Django Bustamante, and Rodolfo Boy Samson Luat!

.
And if I may be so bold, please allow me to make these humble requests:

Love and embrace the sport will all your heart. Dedication and determination, coupled with the right discipline and your heart’s desire, will serve you well. The game will always be there for you. Believe me, I know.

Love and obey your parents. They will be there for you no matter what, always. They are, and will always be, your best friends.

Follow the instructions of your coaches to the letter. All of it. Never doubt!

Train hard. Play hard. And STUDY HARDER! Succeed in the classroom and on the green felt. This way, you will have two great career-defining choices in the future – all yours for the taking.

Someday, when you do make it, please look back on this day. And do remember this adage, which I have tried my best to teach my own beautiful children:

We make a living by what we get. We make a life with what give.

Aim high, dream big, and reach for the stars! Make your mark in this world, kids! And help others along the way. Have fun and enjoy the ride! Good luck on your journey. You WILL become our future champions! Just believe! I am proud of you all! I really am. ️ YOU are the Junior Filipino Invasion! I will always be here for you. And I kid you not!
