Just commissioned my first true custom cue

I spent a couple hours with Darrin Hill today, and I must say this man is something special! Just to listen to his thoughts, on how to make a cue and what effects the different aspects of cue will have on it's play-ability was fascinating.

When you are done talking to Darrin the only question in your mind is, why does anyone buy cues from anyone else. I couldn't be more excited!

The cue I have asked Darrin to build for me starts with an ebony forearm and finishes with an ebony butt. lots of goodies in between.

I still need to design the butt and I would love to see some ideas. The handle will be burled wood with red and black accents.

Does anyone have any pics of butt designs they would like to share?

I know this may sound crazy, but why not just ask Darrin. Let him design it. Why hire an architect but then design the building yourself. I mean, give him a theme or colors you like, and inlay materials... but then let him do his stuff.... just my two cents...... and you can't have change

LOL, sound advice to be sure!

Oh believe me this thing is ALL Darrin. We left the butt decor, for lack of a better term, open saying as he get's to that point he and I will meet and decide if we want to add additional bling.

I just thought I would do my home work in the interim.
