just saw stickmen

Im an SL6, in my eyes, Mars plays more like a 4, especially with all the banks. Lower SL's go for banks instead of cuts a lot.

I haven't seen the flick yet, but I may just pick it up and check it out over the Christmas holidays.

Recently, I met Hall of Famer Lou Butera. Though I knew he has had several acting roles in movies, I did not know that he was the technical advisor of "Racing with the Moon," which is one of my favorite all-time pool scenes.

He also played himself in "The Baltimore Bullet." Here's a link to his other movies: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0124748

Though his picture is not depicted on the IMDB website, I have provided a recent photo of Lou Butera below!:p

Jam,

I had never seen Racing With The Moon before just now. I didn't even know it had pool in it. That was a great pool scene. At first I was like they hardly even shot. Then later in the movie they played the sailors and you were right. That was really fun. THANKS JAM!

PS: The DVD had crappy commentating. He never gives nods to Lou or even mentions him. FIGURES!

Stickmen DVD

My wife bought it for me for x-mas. We watched it and thought it was pretty funny. She only paid $12.74 with shipping. It is now part of our Pool movie collection that includes:

The Hustler: VHS & DVD
Baltimore Bullet: VHS
The Color of Money: VHS & DVD
Pool Hall Junkies: DVD
Stickmen: DVD

:D

That's all right. I am basically a spectator who can't shoot for sh*t if you really want to know.

Cheers, WW

That's cool, I didn't mean any offense by what I said. I just thought he looked OK (But then again there didn't seem to be that many people who could shoot well in the movie, so it might have just been the comparision).

As for the banks, I agree that they where over done and really not needed, but I play pool. It was to look cool to someone watching who doesn't I think. They did the same stuff in the Hustler and COM. Oh yes and in Stickmen they did some FUNKY stuff too.

ok now definately a movie where whoever made it has no idea about pool, atleast pool hall junkies knew what a bridge looked like, this movie sucked what a waste of life

It is not that bad. Look at the bright side, it had pool in it. I think that any "true" billiards enthusiast should at least appreciate that. I bought the movie when it first came out, and I have watched it several times. It does get funnier every time.

I thought it was an ok movie, nothing special. Sure the pool sucked, but consider the level of play of the actors lol.
