Kamui vs Moori

I started using a Kamui a couple of weeks ago just to give them a try.
Last night I inadvertantly put my other shaft (the one I wanted to keep pristine, grrrrr) with the moori on my butt.
I played with it for about 2-3 hours, before I looked at the tip and noticed the different sidewall color. The conclusion I came to is there is no difference between them that was perceptable to me and all the Kamui hype is just that hype. I put the Kamui shaft back on, but only to preserve the other shaft as much as possible.
Btw, it was a Moori Med and a Kamui Med-slow.

If there is no difference between the two and the Kamui is just hype then what does that make the Moori? Are they both equally hyped(not sure if that is a word)?

Maybe I didn't state it well. Kamui is presented as superior to a Moori, I find it isn't.

Gotcha. I have used them both myself and there isn't a huge difference to me. I use the Kamui H and love it. Compared to the Moori H I like the Kamui better but it is probably just all in my head. They are both good tips though.

My two cents worth on the differences:

- Kamui's are harder tips. The Kamui med's I've had were as hard if not a touch harder than the Moori Q's.
- Moori's burnish much easier (and stay burnished)
- The glue's a bit funny with the Kamui's. When you're doming the tip, if the top of the dome is at the end of a layer, the glue's a lil stringy and whatever leather is at the dome is pretty fragile. I've had the top of the dome delaminate with Kamui Softs. (you're better off sanding the dome down to start at a new layer). Never had that problem with Moori's or Everests.
- The two tips sound a bit different on power shots.
- Moori M's glaze over pretty easily. Never had that problem with Kamui's.
- I play equally well with either, but better with Everests *shrug*

I play with soft tips. For me the softer the better. Anyways, I played with many soft tips and here is my conclusion. This is just my opion....

1) Softest layered tip Diamondbackhttp://www.seyberts.com/products/Diamondback_Layered_Cue_Tip-373-80.html
2) Next Softest layered tip Kamui Soft
3) Next Softest layered tip Tiger Sniper
4) Next Moori Slow

I know the Tiger Soft is in there somewhere but I never tried it personally. I tried all of these tips on my Schon cue over the last year. I have stayed with the diamondback for a while and I'm not switching as I really like this tip. Anyways, I hope this helps out a soft tip player in their search....

This seems to be my finding as well. Of course, if I was more diligent about correctly chalking after every shot, this may not be an issue but I do find myself miscuing more with Moori than Kamui.
