I have a chance to pick up a like new Keith Josey Bacote Merry Widow one shaft, and a 8” carbon fiber extension. The seller wants $700 is this a fair price? I’ve been out of the loop for several years so I’m not sure on pricing these days. TIA! I apologize if this is the wrong section to ask.

If you decide to get the cue I'd look into getting a extra shaft just in case for some day when you're in the middle of a match or whatever the case maybe and a tip flies off . yes I realize that doesn't happen very often but it can and does .
I for one consider it a insurance policy if you would .

A new shaft from Keith is $300 if that gives the seller any indication of value. $700 is a fantastic value assuming no joint or straightness issues. My opinion only of course.

Go to his web site, and check the price for a new one. Looks like the Merry Widow cues start around $550, not including the extension.

FWIW, I bought a basic, rosewood sneaky from Keith, in 2011, for about $325. It has held up great, and is a great player. I think his cues are outstanding value for the money.

But are the prices on his web site up-to-date?

I'd say that the general consensus is for you to seriously consider buying the cue and if you really enjoy playing with it order a extra shaft for it and enjoy playing with a sweet looking cue !
Then after your purchase it then you get the enjoyment of figuring out how to hit the cue ball in such a way to make it do exactly what you want it to do ha ha ! Yes , I've learned there's a sweet spot in finding out how much force or finesse is needed for a pool cue to come to life while you're using it ! Then once you find it the game of pool truly becomes addictive !

not even close and also this one exists, order one and wait 1.5-2 years
I know it's been a lot of years, but it only took about 3 months for Keith to deliver my sneaky. As for the prices, they were accurate when I put in my order, and Sherri quickly called me (within a day), to confirm the order and price. I suspect they still answer the phone, so just give them a call, and ask a few questions. I had great service from them.

Things change. (the customer service and quality hasn't)

Keith is busy to say the least. I have owned 4 of his cues personally and send people to him at every opportunity.

Yes, he can deliver certain cues quickly but that's usually because someone else canceled a similar order. And sneaky Petes are always the quickest cuz he has a bunch of blanks just laying in wait.

And no offense intended here but pre covid pricing isn't relevant at all. Sherri can attest to that! :-)
