I have a chance to pick up a like new Keith Josey Bacote Merry Widow one shaft, and a 8” carbon fiber extension. The seller wants $700 is this a fair price? I’ve been out of the loop for several years so I’m not sure on pricing these days. TIA! I apologize if this is the wrong section to ask.

It's a nice looking pool cue , as for its monetary value I don't have a clue but the extension is $ 125.00 or close to it if that helps any .
If you can hit a few shots with it to see how it feels helps with the decision making too .

Doesn't seem like an exorbitant asking price with the extension, and assuming the shaft is full and new to lightly played, and the butt is straight and damage free. Wrap looks like leather? That's an upgrade over linen cost-wise.

If you decide to get the cue I'd look into getting a extra shaft just in case for some day when you're in the middle of a match or whatever the case maybe and a tip flies off . yes I realize that doesn't happen very often but it can and does .
I for one consider it a insurance policy if you would .

A new shaft from Keith is $300 if that gives the seller any indication of value. $700 is a fantastic value assuming no joint or straightness issues. My opinion only of course.
