Kent Davis Cues

Kd cues

I can give you any info you would like about KD Cues. I would like to introduce myself, I am Kent Davis. My background is that I have been playing pool abut 20 years and I am a cabinet maker/millman who started collecting wood about 15 years ago. I live in La Verne, CA and I have worked with a few different cuemakers breifly, I developed my laminating technique over the last 7 years and have sold over 50 cues in Tiawan through J&J Billiards (I have a few pages of catalogue cues including specials, see jjcue.com). Martin Bick has just consigned 5 cues to his collection and he knows how to reach me. There are probably about 75 cues presently in southern CA that I have sold to some very loyal customers and they would be the best ones to give reviews, I am sure some are on AZ. I will be at Valley Forge this coming Year, and I hope that billiard enthusiasts will enjoy what I have developed. If you would like some more photos of my work, keep posted to westerncue.com and Martin will show my latest accomplishments. Presently, I have produced a tapered radial laminated forarm that seems to perform well. The laminated core is tapered also, to yield an outside veneer wall of no more than about .075 max (hard to envision without photos). There are only about 30 cored laminations to date. Previous laminations were not cored, yet they have all performed without flaw, as far as I know. If anyone has one of my cues that is flawed, I would gladly repair or replace it. If you have any more questions, please feel free to E-mail Martin or post again. Pleasure to hear from you, Kent

Good to see some of your work getting more out in the open. Welcome to AZ. Becareful the water can get hot in an instant and you need thick skin
at times but theres good people here.

Kents cues are very well constructed and have a really nice feel to them. I have played with 4-5 of them over the past few years and my buddy uses one as his playing cue and loves it.
I would classify the hit as Stiff and depending on your shaft thickness preferences it could be stiffer or a little less. The feedback and balance
on the cues have all been about the same which I really like to see. IMO
I have played with other cuemakers cues and have found them to be all
over the place in regards to hit and feel.

Where do you play? Ever play at Stix in Rancho? I play there some and Kent is in from time to time.
My name is frank but most everyone calls me alabama. If you see me hit me up and we can shoot around some.

I've hit with a quite a few of Kent's cues, and have nothing but good things to say about them. Point in fact I'm going to have him do some work for me here pretty quick. :) I honestly can't think of another cue maker that I'd recomend more. He does good work and he is a stand up guy (which is rare in the billiard industry).

Hello Kent,
What cuemakers have you worked with, if you don't mind me asking?
