Kim Davenport back in action?

I noticed that "California" Kim Davenport is listed as signed up for the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour 04/05 Season Finale which is coming up next week at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY.

Does anyone know if this means his eye damage has been corrected, or is he simply learning to work around it when playing?

He is just learning to play with the problem. His vison is still bad in the one eye. I played pool with him in Atlanta about 3 weeks after the accident. We played a couple games of 8-ball and a couple games of 9-ball. It was races to 3 and he won both races with a couple of break and runs in each set. Then, him and his amature partner won the pro/am scotch doubles beating Mike Coletrain and me in the finals. So, I would say he could still shoot pretty good even right after the accident. Just golfed with Kim and Johnny last month and I told him about the article of him coming back and I asked if his eye was better and he told me no.

I don't think he will ever regain the vision he once had in that eye but I feel Kim is a good enough athlete that he will be able to overcome and get back to a level close to were he once was.

He will be able to overcome it. I have a pretty serious eye problem and I've overcome it. The mind learns to compensate, especially if it's just one eye that's affected.
