The North Texas and Southern Oklahoma area are in desperate need of a quality pool room. Sherman / Denison communities have two rooms, 1 in Sherman and 1 in Denison. Both rooms are run down and the equipment are lacking maintenance and both rooms are in trouble of closing, because of lack of interest. We have 16 / 5-man teams in the fall 8-ball league (8 in each house) and 16 / 3-man 9-ball teams this summer, but could improve too 20 teams. We have had numerous state championships teams in the handicapped and masters divisions. We also had good showings in the BCA Nationals taking as many as 12 teams one year. Individuals have place well also. This area is starting to grow again! Lockheed-Martin/Marietta Aerospace has bought land with plans to build a plant in this area. The problem is the tables need leveling, slate leveled, pockets fixed and covered. They have big holes in the cloth, pockets loose or falling out and the slate has raised and separated too the point that the cue ball will jump off the table. We have a great pool family that would support a quality room, we did in the past. The rooms have changed owner 5 year ago and no maintenance done at all, so some have choose too stay at home or quit playing. A hand full of us drive to Dallas on Thursdays and the week-ins to play on good equipment.

Why don't you explore a SBA Loan, and open the room you desire?

Ditto. If the economy is strong enough with serious players to support a quality room. If the high maintenance costs will be covered, I am shocked no one will step forward to rake in the money.

Realistically I dont think this is really the case. I think it is wishful thinking. :frown:
