Mike isn't the easiest guy to work with, however, his cues are great.
Tell your buddy to forget about the predators and tell him to get the Lambros flat laminated shafts. They are way better than predators. JMHO.

Please SPLAIN what you mean when you said, "Mike isn't the easiest guy to work with"

Because a lot of his Q go to Japan? :)

My husband has a Lambrose and has had for years and loves it. He has thought about selling it off and on but always backs out. He has had no problem out of it nor has had any problem with Mike. In fact if my memory serves me right, which sometimes it doesn't Ha Ha, Mike gave him a really good deal on it because he used it to play in the Pro Billiards Tour in the late 80's and early 90's. He ended up being a Developing Pro when the PBT went out. He played in the US Open in 1995 and at that time you had to gain points and statur to get a spot to play. He loves it but if he ever decides to get rid of it I will keep you in mind. I just wanted to let people know that it is a great cue.

Cuesnthings.com is a new distributor for Lambros cues and they have a couple cues listed.

I'm not going to speak for Mike, but I would be surprised if he would put a Predator shaft on one of his cues.

First, let me say that I really like Mike Lambros. I consider him one of the best cuemakers in the world.

But like many cuemakers, craftsmen, and artists, he has his way and would rather not entertain things that aren't on the same line of philosophy as his. That's about as diplomatic as I can say it.

Fred, you said it very well.

Bruce, I'm not on the internet to say bad things about anyone, if I can help it.
As far as Mike Lambros goes, he makes one of the best cues you can buy. His cues are as good or better than any you will find. If you decide to have Mike make you a cue, your ride may have a bump or two in it.
For anything past that, I will defer to what Fred said, above.

Well the only person I know who had a Personal Experience with Lambros is my Friend who has one of his 16 Point Cues.

He spoke with Lambros several years ago, and made an appointment to buy 1 Cue from his Inventor in Lost Wages at a Pool Show.

He met Lambros at the Appointed time at his Booth, and Lambros had 2 Dozen Cues for Sale. As my First was promised Pick of the litter so to say he got the Choice of the 24 Cues.

My friend picked his Cue that he gave 2000 Bucks for, the other 23 were immediately snatched up by a Japanese buyer. That is all I know of Lambros.

My friend experiences was positive, and he would not sell his Lambros Cue. ;)

If you are looking for a cue to put a Predator on, Lambros is not your guy. His cues play better than any Predator I have ever had my hands on. His cues are designed as one piece, which means the joint and shaft taper play a large role in how the cue plays. Putting a Predator on the cue will virtually guarantee that the cue plays worse than it would without it. I suggest your friend try it out for a while and if he can't play without a Predator...then he should just buy a Predator cue. :)

It appears your friend actually had minimal contact with Mike, in the experience of buying a cue. He showed up at a given time, pointed to a cue, handed over money and took it home.

Sorry, but I wouldn't exactly call that an experience with a cue maker.

When you get together with a cue maker, work on a design and all the options, place the order and wait for delivery, that is having an experience with a cue maker. It also makes the cue more personal to the buyer.

ABOVE is TRUE:

Well my friends contact with Lambros was a series of Calls to his Shop, as he want a Lambros Cue. Mostly confering Lambrose was coming to Vegas. How many Call I do not know. But as I said my friend was waiting a the Lambros booth in Lost Wages at the appointed time. Believe he was promised Pick of the Cue, if he showed up on time.

The part of the story I forgot was when Lambros came to the Booth with his Inventory (Cues) he was accompanied by what my friend said was a Short Japanese Women. Apprently she had go to where Lasmbros was staying in hopes of buy all lambros's Cues.

Lambrose Gave my Friend Pick of the 24 AS PROMISED, the Lady bought the other 23. My friend apparently contact Lambros before the Japanese Lady. So even though he was only Buying 1 Cue, he got to pick from all available.

Like I said my friend would not sell his Lambros. He has some other Hi Dollar Cue, and his Lambros is his keeper. ;)

Don't personally know hot an Item a Lambros Cue is, but apprently they are still in HIGH demand in Japan..... ;)
