Here in the UK our 8-ball is played with 2" balls.

I was thinking about getting a set of US size pool balls so I could start to get into your version of the game.

I just want to make absolutely sure I get the right size balls, so what's the diameter I need?

Also, how much sould I pay for a low end cue that'll still hit reasonably well?
(Don't want to use my snooker-size cue)

Thanks

I know you are from the U.K. but I am going to have to give you prices in American dollars since I am not real familiar with current exchange rates.

I shoot with a Viking, spent nearly $300 on it, but thats just because of the fancy inlays. I love the hit of the cue, just not fond of the LePro tips. You could pick up a very decent viking starting at about $130, and if you dont like the the LePro tip throw a Moori or Talisman medium on it (both great tips in my opinion.)

I also have heard a lot of good things about the hit of Lucassi cues for their price. You could easily pick one up for less than $150.

Man I really need to get into snooker. I see the tables all the time since ive been in Iceland with the millitary (dont ever come here, at least not for more than a week.) Those tables just freak me out, look like a damn football field. I imagine after playing snooker for a while, it would really improve my pool game though.
