I have a guy who is making me a custom cue and he asked me if I wanted a laminated or standard shaft.... And I have no idea which to choose or what the basic differences are. Now I have a 2 predator cues (a PK2 and a BK2), 3 viking cues, a muecci and a mcdermott, but I never paid any attention to the types of shafts.

So can I get some feedback on the basic differences?

Thanx!

Depends on which lam shaft he's using. Ask your custom maker to explain, he should know more about the shaft than anyone.

For me, the Universal Smart Shaft is the only way to fly. I prefer a heavier shaft and these things are deadly accurate. Of course I am speaking for myself but they are worth a look.

Here is a link that describes them and the two different models you can order.
