Laser Pool Cue

I know you are snickering right now

But hear me out, I have been getting drilled by my instructor because I keep putting english on the cue ball unintentionally, and as you can guess it has done nothing good for learning, nor my game play.

I've read mixed reviews on them, so I'm asking you guys!

I was wondering, what is your view of laser cues used for a training tool?
Have you had 1st hand experience with one?
Are they as accurate as they claim to be?

Thanks for your time and answers!

I got a laser cue for Christmas one year.

Pros: you can see pretty well if your stroke is not in the same plane as your elbow.

Cons: my laser beam was not perfectly in line with the shaft of the cue. There was a slight "angle" at the joint. If you made sure the "angle" was oriented in a vertical plane, it gave a decent indication. If it was not oriented in a vertical plane, it was misleading.

I like better the video Neil posted from Joe Tucker. (Thanks Neil, thanks Joe.)

I highly recommend checking out all of Joe Tucker's training materials and training aids. Joe has an amazing gift for cutting through the BS and getting to simple principles.

I ended up getting one on ebay for $20, I know ebay for one and $20 for two, we will see what happens.

But as far as Joe T's products, I'll be making a purchase before long!
