lathe ideas????????

I got myself a nice little Delta wood lathe, and want to set it up to be able to do tips.
I need some helpful ideas on how to "rig it up" to be able to do this without too much trouble. Here are a couple of pics to show what I have so far. What I need is some sort of steady rest near the end to be able to actually work on the tip withjout having to hold the shaft in my hand while turning it.

I saw this thing on the Lee Valley Tools website, and thought it may work, but I'm afraid it may mark the shaft.

Anyone have any other ideas to get me going?
I just want to do tips. Basically that's it./ Nothing too complicated......Yet

I use a similar 'type' steady rest,,,,bought an el-cheapo from harbor freight toolsand replaced the metal wheels with skateboard wheels,,,just have to keep residue off wheels by sanding them occasionally,,,,,,,works for me !

I'll bet that Lee Valley could answer this question, they seem to have quite a good understanding of their products and of customer service. I'd email the customer service address they list.

Thanks for the replies guys!!
I'll be near a Lee Valley outlet next weekend. I think I'll pick that up.

you can use the thing you saw, but if you don't want to replace the wheels with skateboard wheels, put a little masking tape on the shaft
