I'm looking for someone with a basic repair lathe who is wanting to upgrade.
My budget is currently $500-$800 and need the lathe by Jan 1, 2012.
Nothing by Bassell please. Thanks Terry

Just curious, why nothing by Bassell? I have 2 of his lathes and love them. Affordable and work great.

Maybe he has read all the stuff on this forum about peoples dealings with him and has decided that he does not wish to have any of his products.. Its no different that going and buying a used car. When the salesman asked what kind of vehicle your interested in and you say no to a specific brand or kind of vehicle. The salesman is'nt going to be like "why? we have three of those on the lot and their great". Just show the man what he wants to see and don't try to badger and pressure him into something that he knows that he's not interested in..

As I stated, "Just Curious" the question was directed towards Terry, not you. I wasn't badgering him, or trying to pressure him into anything. I've bought things from almost all the cue lathe builders, have no complaints about anything. This is a forum we are using here. He doesn't have to answer me if he doesn't want to, that's his right. He isn't buying a car, he's buying a lathe, and in the price range he's trying to find one he doesn't have a whole lot of options. If he's dead set against one of Bassell's lathes I'm sure he has his own reasons. But I was wondering why.
