Layani joint protectors?

Does anyone know where to get joint protectors for a Layani with the conical joint? I know I can get them from Layani but I think 50$ is just too steep. I'm not looking for anything fancy, the black plastic el Cheapos would be just fine.

I went through this with Thierry and he convinced me that the Layani joint really doesn't need protectors. The stainless steel half is, well, stainless steel... and the short pin and phenolic female part is also pretty well bullet proof. It would be pretty hard to bend it like a conventional pin.

I have 5 Layani's and one is my playing cue - never had a problem.
