Learning To Play On UK Tables

Hello, I have recently decided to start taking pool more seriously and to improve. I have learned of lots of resources such as books, instructional videos etc but I am wondering how relevant they are to UK pool and they are pretty much all based on US pool tables/rules. As you may or may not know UK pool tables are smaller, 7 feet I believe with different shaped pockets and smaller balls and different rule set and is pretty much only played as a variation of 8 ball. I was just wondering how much of a difference this makes and how much can be learned from books etc based on US pool.
 
I played UK pool for about ten years and a lot of the shots on a Boston cut table are just not possible on an English table. That being said you may garner some good ideas from that material.

Most certainly on draw and follow shots :thumbup:
Simply because of the mass difference of the 1-7/8"? cue ball if memory serves me.
