Leather Tip Identification Question (picture)

Rack, Break, Run, Repeat
Long story short, a friend of mine quit playing pool, and sold me everything he had in his case. In the pockets, he had a handful of replacement tips - which included some labeled/easy to identify tips - such as a few Kamuis and a few White Diamond tips. He also had three of these red tips (pictured below), which were unlabeled, unmarked, and he had no recollection of what they were.

They appear to have between 6-10 layers (although I may be wrong), and they aren't particularly "soft" (meaning malleable) or particularly hard.

Any ideas everyone?

Thanks...that looks exactly right.

I tried searching for a description of these tips online, and I don't seem to be making much progress. How do they play? Are they supposed to be break tips? Anyone have any experience with these?

Yes, I agree that they look like SuperPro tips with 5 layers and a durometer of 74. The durometer is misleading because it's a very hard tip. I installed it on one of my cues and use it for a break cue. I like the hit, it gives me very good control on the cue ball when breaking, and they're very inexpensive on e-Bay. Try one, I think you'll really like it.

I will! Thanks for the info.

Super pro for sure, Get a g10 ferrule installed with one of these tips and you will love the control on your break

I just popped off the phenolic tip on my break cue today and the glue on the super pro is settling as we speak. The phenolic that came with my (incredibly cheap and production) break cue was on its last legs anyway.

I shall report back in a fortnight!
