Leather Wraps

Hi, I just bought my first cue with a glossy and slick one piece leather wrap. The leather looks great ,but does anyone know how I can make it tacky for a better grip now and still keep it looking good? It doesn't need to stay glossy, but I really need some experienced advice to make it be tacky feeling now, not after months or years of using it. Any sure solutions will be greatfuuly appreciated. Please no bull**** recommendation. I can't afford to ruin it. My sincere thanks to any correct advice, since I'm clueless.

Get some beeswax ( http://www.honeyforkfabrics.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi?product=tools1&productid=co62 ) and rub it all over the wrap, take a cotton cloth and smooth it out. Tacky feel, won't slip, won't hurt anything either. Works great. I use it on my leather wrapped cue.

i'll combine 2 threads ideas

how about you wack peoples who are sitting on the tables at your club, won't harm your leather,it sure would make it tacky, and you'll be doing everyone a favour:D

(since you've already been given a proper answer i thought i might give you a semi good advice,a light hearted one!)

I use Mink Oil, it's the best for leather.

Mink oil should work just great, too.

Another advantage of the beeswax is it can be applied to the finished areas of the cue, as on a sneaky pete with no wrap. Works charms there as well.

A light coat or two of Formby's Polymerized Tung Oil Formula. Dries hard enough to protect the leather, flexible enough to be cushy, and is ever so slightly "tacky" when completely dry. I refinished a 40 year-old no-wrap Adam with 10 coats and it's the most comfortable handle I've ever held.
