Ive noticed myself considerably favoring left english over right, I noticed this after missing a few fairly easy shots last night trying it. Most of the time I try to avoid right english so it never really sparked my interest until now. Then I started practicing it for a few hours and noticed exactly how bad I was at it. No matter how far out and low my tip position was, the q was bairly spining at all, and the deflection was crazy sometimes I would have to aim off the object ball 25 or 30 degrees. Is this normal and what are some good ways to fix it.

I am about the same way max. I can shoot using left english flawlessly but usually miss using right unless it's a shot along the right rails then I can use it. The first thing I would say do is video tape yourself using right hand english if you can use two camera's and sync them up you can get a very good analyses of your stroke. One thing that I know happens to me all the time is I am right handed but left eye dominant and have my right eye fighting for dominance on my shot check your stance to make sure you are using your dominant eye and stroke through the shot, jabbing only causes more deflection on heavy english shots that are 2-3 tips away from center.

almost everyone uses outside english on any cut shot. sigel advocates it(just a touch).

i think lefties naturally hit left CB, and righties naturally hit right CB. and i also think righties cut balls to the left better than to the right(outside english being right-side on the cb) , and lefties cut to the right better than to the left.

but if you're on the extreme of the cb and getting no spin, or it deflects more the harder you hit, your stroke is crooked.

it wasnt a miscue, not easy to believe though.........so if I practice on my right and english it should straighten my stroke out, eventually???
