What is the minimum legal length for today's major tournament jump cues? I think it used to be 40" but viewing today's professional matches it seems like they play with longer ones these days. Just curious...

40" is the minimum.
Some cues have two-piece handles that allow for a choice between the minimum 40 inch length or one that's longer/heavier which some people find helpful for longer jumps.
