Lenthen taper w/ wobbly shaft

Can the taper be lengthened on a shaft w/ a wobble? The tip lifts about 1/4 an inch if I'm not mistaken.

Sure, just don't expect this to correct the wobble. As a matter of fact, it may get worse. It depends on the shaft.

Have the faces of the butt joint and shaft joint been checked for damage. Sometimes refacing can remove some, if not all, wobble. Damage to the joint face does happen occasionally.

I was thinking the same thing...maybe something got on the face, it doesn't take much to make it not seat square...a true test is to roll the cue with the joint of the cue on a rail with the tip out over the edge. Roll it back and forth and see how bad it is then...

Check the shaft and butt separately for wobble first. If both roll straight then the refacing might be done to help get the wobble out.

Take it to a cue repair man or it will be a disaster. It needs to be looked at by someone who knows. Sometimes the warp can be turned out but till I am turning on my lathe I can"t tell you.

The same things can be done to a wobbling shaft as to a straight shafts except removing the wobble.
