I just got off the phone with Leon and what can I say.....what a gentleman. I am purchasing one of the cues he is finishing by next week. He took my specs for the cue, and was willing to work with anything I threw at him.

From what I heard his cues are no less than stellar and tremendously great pricing. You guys had better get in on the last of his sneakies (if not already sold!) because he will be busy for quite a while on some high end customs so he won't have the time to make sneakies for quite awhile. I will post pics when I receive the cue in about a week or so. I am very excited.

Rob you're cue is done it's in the cue gallery now.

I had a chance to finally shoot with my new Bacote Sly Saturday when I went down to pick up my other cue from Bob Dzuricky. I played with it for 5 hours. I would like to say that I love the cue. He made the ferulle 9/16 length with the 12.75 diamter shaft just like a pred and with a triangle tip.

I got used to the cue quick. The shaft was easy to adjust too and plays similarly like a pred with not a lot of deflection. This cue is beautiful. Finish was very good and the grain in the bacote is excellent. Points are as close to dead even as possible. I love the logo too.

I am very happy with the purchase and would have to say if anybody is sitting on the fence to whether or not they want to pick up a sly, I would push them off over to the yes side LOL.

I will provide a detailed interview of the other cues I have receid recently (DZ and Ariel Carmelli) when I get a chance to get a couple of hours play on them. Here are the pics of the Sly cue reviewed if you haven't seen them already.

A sly sneaky like the one above will cost you in the 3 to 400 range probably closer to 350.00 new custom ordered directly from Sly ... And to be honest the cue you will get for that money is a huge bargain. I have a few Sly's now and more on order. And they are the best hitting cues I have played with so far. So for the money versus the quality of cue you are getting you are getting a steal.

But you will have to wait to talk to Sly till he gets back from Macon Ga. I just left him and his wife there a couple hours ago after spending the week with them. They will not be back home for at least another week. I plan to go back down and see them next weekend before they head back home.

Sly and his wife are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We had a great time and alot of fun while getting alot of work done. Sly also shoots a very good game of pool so he gets to try out all the different wood combinations and knows what hits good and what don't from a players perspective. So he is a player as well as a cue maker and knows his woods . ferrel combo's and tips and all that is involved in making a cue from the builder and players perspective...

I have long been a fan of Sly's cues and after meeting him and spending the week with him and his wife ... I know what great people they are and that I was right in making him my choice for ordering cues and playing with his cues ... I picked up my first wrapless player (first of two on order) from Sly while up in Macon with him this week... This cue is out of this world and hits like a rape date ... The wood in it is beautiful the hit of the cue even better... The finish is like glass and the two shafts are the smoothest you will find on a cue ...

All I can say is" Play with a Sly or go Hungry ..." He truly builds a great cue ...
