Lightest Ferrule Material

What is the lightest ferrule material? Will it float on water?
What other characteristics does it have such as resistant to scratches, cracking, hard vs soft hit, etc.?

titan seems to be the lightest. i use it as my main material other then ivory. its kinda soft but not too soft. i like it alot. its milk white chalk resistant and i have yet to crack it. only downfall is it melts easy. so its a pain to drill and tap until you get used to it... ive used just about everything over the years and keep going back to titan


as far as floating do you mean a 1'' slug. i will experiment

oh yea its ridiculusly cheap too like 16$ for 3 ft

This stuff is just a shade heavier than the maple you are cutting away.

with all due respect i can not use anything that isnt white. i installed one of masons micarta ferrules a few weeks ago. it played really good but that yellow tint drove me bonkers... :-) i only used it bc it was sent to me for the cue
 
It is a laminated wood product from another industry. I have some stuff with thinner laminations that is more dense than this version. Use only as a through ferrule. From my testing it broke at the base of the cap and since trimmed to a through it has yet to break.
And yes it is not white..
