List Of Handicap Weights

Just curious as to if anyone has an ordered list of weight that can
be given to someone.

Example:

Call last two
Last two
Call last three
etc..........

If you have a thorough list or could make one on the fly, it would probably be best to PM me with the list, instead of posting it publickly....

I have a list for one pocket handicaps, but not one for nineball.

I could make one of my own, but I am curious of other peoples opinions of what weight
is worth more than others, etc....

Seriously, no one has a list showing handicaps for nineball as mentioned in my first post?

Like I said, if you have one, you can PM it too me if you would like.

The value of one particular handicap can vary based on who the two players are (ability), so I would imagine a list being nominally useful at best.

Just imagine an APA 3 getting the breaks from SVB... Now imagine Orcullo getting the breaks from SVB.

But there should be a GENERAL list of nineball handicaps and the general consensus of what weight is better than the next....

Sure players speed and style comes into play but that is best handicapped by those involved based off a general set of handicap weights...

Any suggestions?

Very difficult to make a general ranking of handicaps imo. Like DallasHoops said, the players skill levels make a huge difference.
You would have to make different rankings for each combination of players.

For example in 9-ball, with two C players, giving a wild ball would be a lot bigger than a game on the wire, but with A players and up, wild balls mean very little and games on the wire would be a bigger handicap.

Skill levels really do play a lot into the weight. If you are a much lower skilled player than your opponent and they offer you what seems like a lot of weight, then you probably should ask for more.

If you want a general rule of thumb more last balls better than fewer. Last 4 is better than Last 2.

Wild balls are better than Call balls. Wild 8 is a better spot than Call 8.

All Breaks are better than winner breaks.

More games on the wire are better than even race.

More money odds are better than even money.

Mix and match those and you should be able to determine what's better than the other.:thumbup:

Wild 8 is a better spot than Call 8.

Gambling noob question: whats the difference ?

afaik - wild 8 = game is won if they (the person getting the wild 8 spot) sinks the nine or the 8 ? yeah ?

Call 8 is maybe the same but call pocket ?? (hardly much of a difference ??) ... must be something else... ???

Thanx
Cheers.

Your thinking is correct... making them call the extra money ball takes 5 pockets out of play on the break (with the added bonus of making them concentrate on hitting the rack in a likely different and possibly less effective way chasing that extra money ball). It also takes away the "strategic smash" (Push & Pool trademark pending).
