I am sure every poolhall has the type who are never in a game unless they have a dead lock. They would rather sit all night not playing than ever get involved in a fair game.
I heard a funny story about one of these characters the other night.
The lock artist hung out at the old Hollywood Billiards and was well known for never getting on the table unless he had a sure win. One night a blind guy comes into the poolhall with his seeing eye dog. Hollywood Jack yells out to the lock artist "Hey, here comes your game." The lock artist not missing a beat shouts back "OK, I'll try him but the seeing eye dog has to go."
