Just locked up my my 2nd consecutive Monday night APA 8-ball MVP last night. There's still one week to go, and my team needs points next week, but it feels good to have this under my belt.

I beat a solid SL6 5-0 in 10 innings. We had one defensive game of six innings, and the other 4 games were one inning each. My break just wasn't working, but my finishes were strong. After the first couple of games, if I had 3 balls left, I noticed my opponent putting his stick down as if he knew the outcome (even if I didn't).

BTW my team will likely end up in divisional playoffs trying to qualify for the Vegas trip tournament.

Congratulations ! I was just wondering about your format, here in the Atlanta division we had a Division playoff 2 weeks ago for the wildcard teams (the ones that did not win their division ! 2 of which go on to the divisionals ! then we have the Divisional Cup which is the winners of each Division for the right to go to the City Playoffs ! which the top 5 teams in this will go to Vegas ! We are playing the Division Cup this Friday and Saturday! :p

P.S. I would not expect, if I were you, many on here to appreciate your excitement since most here believe they are too good for APA pool ! JMO!

Thanks for the congrats! And, I totally understand the dislike that many have for the APA. The APA in my area was about double the size it is now, but the L.O.s have driven it to the ground. My MVP came out of a division with about 100 players. Of those, I only consider about 10-12 players a credible threat. Seems our ACS league has the best players in the area, but I don't like the one game and sit format. Getting back to your question.

Our format here is similar to yours, but smaller and the timing is different. We only have Divisional playoffs and Vegas Cup (no city tournament). The top two teams from the Divisional playoffs, and the Divisional regular session winner go to the Vegas Cup tournament.

Divisional playoffs for teams 2 through wildcard will be June 4th. If you win your first team match that Monday night, you have to play again that night. I hate that part, since I get up between 4:30 and 5am! The Vegas Cup tournament for 8-ball will be June 9 - 10.

Best of luck to you this Friday and Saturday. With a name like Mr Lucky, you shouldn't need much outside help. :D

I snagged MVP the first two sessions I played APA (This session is my second). I'm done with APA for now, Virginia Beach Billiard Club is on the top of my list.
