Some people say, 'FYI's'. For me, it's more like RFN's--Randomly Firing Neurons.
At the pool hall today, I was practicing long back cuts with the OB up table and off the spot and the CB at the other end of the table sorta near the long rail. These were 45 and 60 degree perceptions. Being one who gets his visuals when down on the shot--and owning a pair of 67 yr old eyes, these shots always take some extra work for me. While down on one of these shots, this idea crossed my mind. Rather than using the edge of the cue ball to find an 1/8th or 1/4 of the object ball, I took the required fraction on the cue ball and aimed this point at the edge of the OB. For my bad eyes, it was a lot easier and faster to pick up the fraction on the cue ball--and even a blind guy like me could pretty clearly see the edge of the OB.
Try it, you might like it.
