Longest game of 1 pocket?

What is the longest game of one pocket you have had?

Yesterday one game took us 2 hours.

I don't like it when all the balls get up the table and the game gets too long. I play pretty aggressive and games don't last all the long win or lose. A 45 minute game would be very long for me. It may not be others opinion but I don't put huge value on any one game, just the overall outcome of the session. I remember seeing Mike Carello (sp?) playing a guy a $1000.00 a game and a lot of the balls were up the table and it was just taking forever, so he began shooting at balls trying to get a little lucky and end it one way or another. He lost the game then beat the guy like five in a row in the next hour or so. Those long games can just take too much out of you. You can't live and die on every game in my opinion, finish the game and get on the next. It's just a style of play and that's mine. I would be curious what others think of my reasoning, especially someone like Grady or Keith, even if they think it is idiotic, I have thick skin.

One time I was watching Buddy Hall and Cliff Joyner play a game of one pocket (in a big tournament, I think Grady's Legend's of ONe Pocket) and it was a race to 4. Buddy was leading 2-1 and the fourth game was taking FOREVER. All 15 balls had been knocked into one corner of the kitchen and each player would take a turn at barely touching the rack, playing a perfect safety so that the other player would never hava a chance of pocketing the ball. This went on for over an hour. Finally Buddy looks at Cliff and says, "Cliff, I just wanted to let you know that there is a time limit on all of these matches and if this game is not over within the next 10 minutes, the match will be called and whoever is ahead will win the match. Cliff's face normally impassive, looked like he had been caught stealing cookies from his mom's cookie jar. Immediately Cliff started a super agressive process trying to get balls into the open. As soon as he did that Buddy started picking off each ball Cliff would put into play. It was kind of funny seeing the expression on Cliff's face. I would not have enjoyed being in Cliff's shoes. Buddy had watched the clock and knew the rules and took advantage of Cliff who was happy as he could be playing safety after safety.
I can't remember how long that game was taking to play but it was over an hour just for that one game and could have been as much as two. And yes, Buddy won the match in spite of Cliff trying to speed up the game.
Warm Regards,
