Longoni Russian Pyramid cue

Here's a cue that doesn't come up every day. Longoni Russian Pyramid billiard cue. Made in Italy. Butterfly splices. Padauk wood for the butt and a Hornbeam shaft. Red, yellow and blue veneers. A couple of minor nicks in the finish, nothing major. The ferrule is also not completely flush with the shaft, looks like it came from the factory like this. Change the tip and this could also be a sledgehammer of a break cue.

Weight: 803 grams / 28.3 ounces
Length: 157 cm / 62 inches
Tip: 13.5 mm

$550 shipped. Cue is in Spain.

Would consider a trade in my favor. Only interested in an Adam Balabushka inlaid model with thick silver rings, or a Joss N7 COM cue.

I've seen Russian Pyramid played, and there must be something wrong with these cues because they don't seem to make very many shots.

I'm curious. How is this enforced? Are cues weighed at tournaments?
Any competitor can ask a referee to check any player’s cue at any time. Competitors know, or at least they should, there is a min. length for a cue but no max. length, however, there is a maximum cue tip size and also cue weight.

Interesting. I wonder if that has ever happened in a tournament. I've seen pros play whole matches with a buttt extension. Would that count in the maximum allowable cue weight as well?

25 ozs…….not larger than 14 mm…….a minimum length of 40” but can be as long as the pool table (no max. length).

No exceptions……39” is illegal…..25 1/2 ozs. is illegal………14.2mm wide is illegal…….The rule is exactly what it says.

The tip must be specially processed leather or other fibrous or pliable material and cannot be of a material that could scratch or damage the cue ball. I don’t think you’d be disqualified in a tournament for a violation but surely the pool cue would be.
