Yea, I've actually been actively looking to buy a new cue for quite some time. However, this is a task more difficult than I first had thought. I've spent days surfing the web, and I've spent hours at the local pool dealer, playing with most everything they have, but so far I'm not too happy with anyone of those cues -- Pechauer, Joss, Huebler, McDermott, etc.

I guess one of the factors that makes it a bit hard for me, is that I want a cue without wrapping. Why is it that all American cue makers insist on wrapping their cues?

So I've been considering a Longoni, and yesterday I actually bought one -- a $1400 cue for just $695 -- from The Billiard Warehouse. Well, so I thought, until a few hours later when I got an email from Greg Savoie telling that they do not carry the Longoni's anymore, but had forgotten to take it off their website:

I've also been trying to persuade John Parris to make me a 12mm 57" 17oz'er of their Champion cues:

And as speaking, I'm waiting for a quote from him.

If anyone have played with a Parris and/or a Longoni, I'm curious what you think of them, (or any other similar cue for that matter). Also, if there's anyone selling a good 12mm 17oz cue without a wrap, I might be interested.

I'm near by in San Jose/Santa Clara area and have few wrapless cues for sale anywhere from low $300 to $2000.

But none of my cues are light as 17 oz or slim as 12mm. They are 18.5oz and up in weight and 12.5mm and up in shaft diameter.

PM me if interested in looking and hitting 'em. I shoot at Shoreline, California and Santa Clara billiards.

Try getting in touch with Dan Janes at Joss Cues. He made me a nice wrapless cue to my specifications for a quite reasonable price. It plays as well as any cue I've tried. (note: he likes thicker shafts, but will make you what you want.)

I use a McDermott "snooker" cue with a regular shaft (12.75). I still have the shaft 10mm I think. Are you looking for a pool cue or snooker cue? There isn't a lot of choices for wrapless cues in most production lines. I know McDermott makes 1 high end and the rest are plain. Jacoby offers several and there's a few others. If you would pm me on what Parris charges for a pool cue, I really like his designs. Another option may be a titlist conversion/ sneaky pete type cue.
Good Luck

Take a look at www.acuerate.com
I wont't vouch for the quality, because the opinions seems to differ quite a lot, I only know one (very decent) player who uses it, and he loves it, the revolution pool cue that is.
