Hey there,

I'm looking for a deal on the standard size arbors: 3/8 10,3/8 11,5/16 14 5/16 18 and Uniloc (not necessary at first)

any plastic collets?

does anyone have any in good "used" condition? also looking for an MT2 bull nose live center.

thanks!

Nothing used but can make to your specs. Atlas , Prather, Hightower, Brianna, muellers I think even sells em. But sometimes you get what you pay for.

If You have the lathe, a few pins, and taps you could make some of your own drives. 5/16-18 is probably the most common, You could buy both threaded rod or bolts, and a tap in almost any harware store. Chris Hightower sells some drives that work well, and they are reasonably priced, others are atlas, prather, and others that have probably already been mentioned. Collets you can make from teflon or delrin/acetal/acetron whatever name they go By, whatever is soft enough. The trick or the easiest way for me to machine collets, is to hang enough out of My jaws to turn the OD, and bore the inside hole at the same same time. That way the OD comes out true to the ID. I have had the best results using that method when making extra collets.:)
