Looking for CueSilk alternative - Biosilk?

Hey all.. I heard that CueSilk is just a Dimethiconol/Cyclomethicone based haircare product, massively marked up, and some people have suggested "BioSilk" as an alternative, that has the same basic ingredients..

Can someone advise me on exactly "which" BioSilk product we are talking about here? I see a lot of BioSilk products here in Germany on Amazon, and there are serums, shampoo, conditioners, etc. Now.. I assume it's NOT either a shampoo or conditioner, so maybe "BioSilk Silk Therapy Original Serum"?

I haven't used CueSilk in something like 15-20 years, but the one thing I remember is that it had an extremely pleasant smell. Some folks have talked about finding a BioSilk product that smelled EXACTLY the same (to the point there are some rumors that CueSilk basically just repackages that product....)... I would love to figure out exactly which product that is, if anyone can tell me. I think maybe BioSilk has expaned their product line, and it is not so easy to figure out exactly found to be a good alternative to CueSilk.

Read the desc: https://incidecoder.com/products/biosilk-silk-therapy-original sounds like exactly same stuff as CS. probably has a tad more fragrance added but hell, who doesn't like a sweet smellin cue? ;)
Well, I looked, and I couldn't really find an ingredient list for CueSilk, so I am basically taking as the gospel truth one member's claim that it is simply a Dimethiconol/Cyclomethicone based product....

Was hoping to get confirmation from someone who currently uses a BioSilk product on their shaft...

CS is a silicone based deal so it can't be much diff. I've heard the same thing. Its cheap enough to try it. watchin Jen use it might make ur tip pop off. ;)

Whoa. I missed something somewhere. The CueSilk I used (small bottle, green snap cap), and turned hundreds of folks onto, worked great for me. I quit it only because I found renaissance wax. Was there something wrong with it? Confused as to why a substitute would be needed but I think it is called "renaissance wax".

Because it is insanely expensive for the amount of product you get. .25oz bottle for $5-$7, whereas BioSilk is $25.00 for a 5.6oz bottle.

And some people think that Cue Silk is basically just repackaging such an existing product, and boosting the price ~2500%... Some folks have mentioned that BioSilk smells EXACTLY like CueSilk. Take from that what you will.

I guess I used so little of it I never realized -- a little bottle lasted me years. Plus, it worked so well that I would have gladly paid any price for it -- freed me from the dreaded powder.

I have sweaty palms, and oily skin.... And I have started to become more aware of how little effort I have been putting into shaft care. As in literally a small green scrub pad is how I have been cleaning my 314-2 shaft. I figured finding a way to go back to my previous shaft care steps, without the expense of $20.00 an ounce, would be helpful.

I assume that at 50 years old, one bottle of BioSilk prolly takes me through the rest of my playing career.

It is dimethicone, a form of silicone "oil".
You can also find it in personal lube. It will attract dirt over time, since it's oily/wet.

I found it's very slick when freshly applied, but it quickly creates stiction when going back and forth.

Thank goodness for Renaissance Wax………it does the best job of keeping your shafts feeling smooth.

I've found RainX (for car windshields) extremely slick and inexpensive. Just rub in a tiny amount on a paper towel.

As a guy that tried almost every imaginable option to make my shaft slicker, Mother's Carnauba wax (paste or liquid) has to be... Hmmm... 🤔 Probably the best!
Just an FYI...Some waxes, even higher end waxes are formulated with petroleum base. Just be careful what you're putting on your shaft/s.
😉👍

Valid!
Carbon fiber really doesn't care. And if you want to try on wood, you better put some sealer before applying the wax.

Russ, I checked my bottle of bio silk that I use on my cues and it has " silk therapy" on the label. And yes, it smells the same and feels the same as cue silk.
