I'm looking for a break cue, and a predator 3/8x10 shaft. I've looked on ebay and I think a fury break cue is what I'd like. for $144 and free shipping on a new break cue, it's not too bad. I'd also like to find a deal on a near new if not new straight 3/8x10 pin predator shaft for my custom cue. I stopped using it when I got my Frey SP, but would like to use it again. I think a different shaft would maybe help.maybe changing tips again would entice me to reuse it? who knows... any offers of what you'd like to sell can be posted though. you may either post here, or call me with "for sale" offers. if you'd like to call, you may find my number in my "TS sneaky pete" wanted thread. after much deliberation with myself and talking to others, I finally decided on a "frey" SP and to my delight, it was a good decision. any better ideas on a break cue for the money or close to it?

pm sent on 2 predator shafts....

a j + j jump/break is the best value for the money in my opinion...

and if you are going to spend the 150 for the fury, spend a little extra and get a sledgehammer...much better materials and better made for just a little extra dough in the long run....again, in my opinion....

yes it was

thats a great price for a fury...

it was a great deal for whoever got it, but I was too late in waiting for today. I guess I just wasn't meant to own it. anyone else have something besides a j&j j/b cue?

We have 3 Stingers in stock one is the sneaky version. I also have a few OB-1's coming in with the 3/8 pin, I think you will find these are as good or better than the 314's. Also have a plyers j/b with phenol tip in stock as well.

Hey Jeff,
Even though you change cues quicker than the wind shifts :p , I recommend spending a little more and getting a well-constructed J/B from a custom CM. I realize it's hard to justify $450+ for a Gilbert J/B, but you can find some great J/B cues in the $2-300.00 range. I recently picked up the Ron Waller one-of-a-kind J/B cue from an AZer, and just bought a Woody J/B on Ebay for $200.00 - which was a steal IMO. (The Waller is the keeper; the Woody was just too good of a deal).
I tried the POS Fury, and several other mass-produced J/B cues and found that you reallly do get what you pay for.
I think you'll find that the same reasons you prefer your DZ or Frey cues over a Fury playing cue will also apply to the Fury (or similar) J/B cue.

yes, I change my mind on things quite often. I tried and bought a "stinger" SP break/jump cue here in town, and bought a predator 314 from "scruggsinhand" so for now I'm set. next week...:p :p who knows?

hey man i change like you as well. I also recently picked up a cocobolo stinger.. it breaks good, its a good fit for me, but for another person who has a really strong power break, they should go with something like a predator BK which doesnt have a phenolic tip.

Ive seen my friends who have strong power breaks, and using the phenolic tip, alot of times lose control of the cueball, and even may send it off table. Depends on users. If you lack power in your break, get something with a phenolic tip. If power isnt your problem, and control is, look for a cue with a "hard" tip but isnt phenolic. for instance i know a friend with a lucasi J/B with a layered tip on it (he cant remember the kind of tip damn him!) and that breaks like a dream. Changing the tip can do ALOT for a break cue, i heard alot about "Picone" tips or something maybe "Joe Picone" something like that, search for it in the forums, supposedly makes a BIG difference.

if I'm not mistaken, the tip is white and it's called a "white diamond" b/j tip
