Looking to sell retired cue maker's shop

I inherited a cue maker's shop and am looking to sell. Cue Smith lathe, built in 1994 (as per Chris Hightower), inlay machine, assorted inlay patterns, 50 unturned blocks of wood, 150 turned pieces ranging from 12" to 30", shafts, spools of linen wrap (assorted colors), veneers, inlay materials, ferrules, bags of accent rings, etc, etc.

Everything is in Dallas.

Cue Smith lathe, asking $1,400 (with various items and accessories). Does not have taper bar.

Inlay machine with 7 inlay patterns, plus assortment of pre-cut inlays of various materials, asking $850

50 blocks of unturned wood, PM me and we can discuss. UPDATE: SOLD

14 shafts, asking $185

Everything in life has a level of risk and a level of reward.

I tend to trust people but I have a street-wise nose when it comes to things not looking or smelling right in a situation.

With 'dallasjackson', he responded to all questions very quickly and was reasonable with prices and requests. His situation for selling sounds reasonable, so, if you like the items he has for sale and at the prices he is asking.

I would take the chance, just have a little protection, like send through paypal with a visa card.

The seller had no problem having this as the buying process,

Dont get me wrong, if I was to buy something and all I had was cash, I wouldnt send a big envelope of cash to a seller with no history or itrader.

'Caveat emptor' but many times on az, people are too much the devils advocate or think only the negative of people.

I try not too and of the hundreds of transactions on az, I have only had 2 bad experiences and both I was protected by the way I purchased the items.

Good luck with the purchases and WELCOME to 'DallasJackson' to the az family. I dont think he will be around AZ much after he sells the cue building supplies that were inherited by him but,its a good chance for both parties to make good deals for each other.

Sorry for any slow responses, but I was out yesterday on some work related stuff.

The wood is sold and was shipped yesterday. The bolts, ferrules, screws, linen, tips, etc was sold and was also shipped.

What I have left is the lathe, the inlay machine (along with the inlay patterns, some pre-cut inlays and an assortment of dymnondwood and planed hardwood for making inlays) and the box of 14 shafts.

I am asking $1,400 for the lathe. The gun drill you see in the pictures is included.

For the inlay machine, inlay patterns and inlay material I am asking $850

If someone wants them both, I will sell them as a set for $2,000.

I also have the 14 shafts that I am asking $185 for.

And, as a bit of background, I inherited this collection. The original owner retired about 20 years ago. The individual passed on about 5 years ago and the stuff has been in storage since. It only recently came to me. I'm more into cabinetmaking than cue making, so I haven't spent time on this site before. I contacted Chris Hightower to find out more about the lathe and inlay machine and to learn roughly what the items were worth. I then posted this on Craigslist and eBay and from individuals who contacted me from those postings, I was directed to AZ Billiards. A lot of the stuff I had I wasn't sure how to best describe or what featured to highlight in the pics I took, which is why the pics I have posted were less than stellar. I have Chris' email that I will gladly share. As per Chris, the lathe is the predecessor to the Cue Smith Deluxe and was built around 1994.

Someone on this site was kind enough to point out the gun drill laying on the lathe and suggested that might be a separate item. I'm not sure what cue makers use a gun drill for, so I am just tossing it in with the lathe as part of a package. I have a couple dozen blank brass plated measuring 1.5"x12" and range from 1mm to 3mm thick that I have no idea what they are for, so I will throw those in with either the inlay machine or the lathe, first come first served. There are some other 3" (or so) pieces of various woods that have been cut off and saved.

I'm trying to clear this stuff out of the garage and get some value for it. If someone wants the lathe, the inlay machine, the inlay patterns, the shafts and everything else that is left laying around, PM me with a price.
