Has anyone shot with the Lucasi Carbon Fiber shafts? I have never seen them mentioned ever. Brian.

Never seen/hit one but i'm gonna go way out there and say its another Chinese CF shaft in a sea of black shafts. I don't see many getting sold at 500bux list.

Hi, I own a Pinnacle 12.5mm CF shaft. I am just an above average player so my opinion is just probably at my level .. so not going to mention about deflection .. not qualified. Having said that ... I do own quite a few CF shafts - Revo, Defy ( both older tacky one and the newer slick), Rhino, XLR8, Cynergy and couple of cheaper ones.

The Pinnacle shaft comes with Tiger everest tip .. which was the first disappointment for me. I don't like hard tips. I wish production cue companies supplied shafts with cue tips of different hardness. The second point was the taper .. the diameter increases very quickly. So the 12.5 mm at the bridging point almost feels like 13mm+ . I put the shaft aside for a few weeks but picked it up again once I was able to get the tip changed to Thoroughbred soft. I also have now gotten used to the taper and started to like the shaft. If feels solid and I prefer it over Rhino, XLR9 and some knock-offs. The two other parameters of CF shaft that I check - one what I call the 'hissing' sound when the CF shaft moves across your bridge hand .. for Pinnacle it is like the other Revo and Cynergy (the hissing sound from the cheaper versions bother me a lot) and the second point is the Carbon fiber dust when you clean with the alcohol wipes, the Pinnacle gathers lot of the black material .. more than Revo and Cynergy!

But truthfully, at this price point you have several good options. For me, Defy is my favorite and then Revo and Cynergy. The differentating factor in Pinnacle is the taper .. try it out if you can at your local pool halls or expos. I may not have helped a lot in your decision making, but just wanted to share my thoughts on this shaft.

Hi,

I'm a big fan of Lucasi cues and was excited to hear that they were finally coming out with their own CF shaft. At this point, I had already purchased the Revo 12.4, shot with it for a couple of weeks, was not crazy about the taper and swapped it out for a Revo 11.8 with the European taper. Then a few months later I got my wife the Rogue 11.8 for her Pechauer cue, and I shoot with that off and on. All 3 CF shafts are great performers – stiff construction, generate a lot of spin, and they are very low deflection. But, back to my original comment, I love Lucasi, and I play my best pool with their cues, so I finally bought the Pinnacle 12.5 even though there were practically now reviews, even 1 year later! This drove me nuts and I was worried I would regret spending another 500 on a shaft, but my intuition was right, and I could not be happier. So here it is..

Lucasi Pinnacle shaft review (12.5mm tip):

Out of all the CF shafts I've played so far, the Pinnacle is by far my favorite. Super durable shaft made with multi-directional layers of military-grade carbon fiber. The Pinnacle shaft has one of the best low-rise pro tapers in the business and feels incredible in both open and closed bridges. The surface is very smooth and slippery and never sticky when clean. The shaft has maybe the longest white ferrule (~8mm long) out of all the CF shafts which is great (and familiar) for sighting shots and provides a better platform for replacing tips. It's not as black as the Pechauer Rogue (which might be the best-looking CF shaft out there!), but the Pinnacle has a good bark color and is blacker than my Revo shafts. With the high-density polyurethane foam core, the Pinnacle has a solid damped hit off the cue ball, which not only sounds better, but vibrate less than Revo. Even with the larger ferrule and foam core, the Pinnacle shaft is perfectly weighted, and very low deflection. The Pinnacle comes with a Tiger Everest Tip, which is good, but not the best. I replaced mine with the Kamui Athlete, a tip specially made for CF shafts and hits between medium and soft. Absolutely amazing, I played my best pool yet with this combination.

My recommendations:
1) Pinnacle 12.5 CF shaft
2) Kamui Athlete tip
3) TAOM V10 chalk
