Lucasi Hybrid Slim Shaft

Got the hybrid slim shaft and a z2 to try out the difference in the 8 spliced lucasi, and the 10 spliced predator. With the lucasi slim low deflection shaft, the ferrule, and shaft diameter are identical, hit is dead on with the predator, and what's even better is the price!! If you haven't tried one and are looking into getting a low deflection shaft for your cue and don't wanna wait to have one made, this is definately a cheaper, and in my opinion, just as good alternative to the Predator!!

Agreed.

I've played on the Predator 314-2, Z, Z-2, OB 1,2 and classic, McDermott I-2 and I-3 and now the Lucasi hybrid zero flex slim shaft as well. I'd have to agree that this shaft is virtually equal to the competition in lowering deflection and squirt. (I'm a geek and technology + pool = a combination of orgasmic magnitude for me. That being said, I'd love to check out a Predator P3 if someone has one for a decent price please pm)

The one thing that I'd say is that the cushioning under the ferrule on predator shafts, the feeling that some players describe as "mushy" is the main difference between these shafts. This shaft gives a very solid hit, and the one I'm testing is actually on a uniloc pin, came with a medium moori tip.

I personally like the cushioned feeling of the predator shaft. I'd describe the hit from this lucasi shaft as solid to the point that it's almost rigid. Some people prefer that. I believe it comes down to personal preference IMO.

So in closing, virtually equal in lowering deflection and squirt with a stiffer hit than the competition at significantly cheaper costs.

Solid hit but has alot more deflection than a 314-2 shaft. If you want low deflection this is not the shaft for you.Thats my opinion and I've tested
almost all of them.

Curious: since you have tested most, which (among so-called LD-shafts, disregarding old-school for the moment) would be your favorite in terms of hit and feel?

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

Jacoby hybrid shaft

Has anyone tried the Jacoby 63 piece composite shaft and how does it rate against the competitors? I play with the Z2 on a Predator SE20 designed and built by David Jacoby and thinking about adding his shaft.
