Does anyone have a list of instructors in the MA area? My wife was going to get me lessons for Christmas but didn't know who to contact. The more choices the better and if anyone has had a really positive experience I would love to hear about it.

Thank you in advance,
Dave

Dave,
I would heartily recommend Bob LeBlanc in Waltham. He isn't certified with the BCA or anything, but I found his instructions useful. His rate was $50.00 an hour a year ago I think. I'd usually get an hour lesson then he'd give me a spot and we'd play 9-ball for a couple of more hours free. If we played APA rules he'd play as a 9 and I'd play as a 5. Even though he didn't actually give me instructions during the play time, sometimes I'd learn more then than from the lesson.
I know your game somewhat from APA and you're probably on the border line as to whether or not he'd improve your play, but I'd suggest you give 1 hour a shot and see how it works.

Dave Egdol at Brighton Billiards was once recommended to me as an excellent instructor. I never got around to checking him out so I can't verify that.

Also if you want a complete package there is that guy up at Mt Snow in Vermont. the "Australian Oyster" (even though he isn't Australian, go figure). Billiard Sanctuary

I've had lessons from Ken Tewksbury, he was okay but that was long ago when I wasn't where I am now so I'm not sure whether or not he'd be much help to you.

Of course, there's Joe Tucker, but his availablity is tough.

That's about it that I know of. If you find a really great one don't hesitate to let me know.

I agree with PB51, "interesting". Would you care to elaborate on it either here or in a PM to me? You know number of students, structure, goals, level of player it is directed at, etc.

I've also heard Ron Tocci (603-883-3342) in Nashua, NH was a good instructor, but I can't verify that either. However, I play in a league with a couple of his sons and they sure can play.

Thanks everyone. I have heard of Ken Tewksbury and Bob LeBlanc. Thank you for the compliment Steve but believe me, lessons are a must I have learned. I've pretty much peaked between an APA 6 and 7 so I know there is still a ton to learn. I will keep these contacts and leave it to the wife when the time comes.

Thanks again,
Dave

i just wanted to also say thanks for all the reccomendations....i gave ron tocci a call since he was in my area...i took a 1 hour lesson and i do think he improved my stroke....i think it was beneficial
