Mace v. Gilbert J/B

I recently bought a Mace and a Gilbert J/B (both used). The Mace seems clearly superior in terms of power, though the Gilbert appears to have a tip diameter of less than 13 MM, which may hurt its performance. I'd be interested in others' comparisons of the two. Thanks.
