Magic Chalk Review

As most of you know, RJ has decided to sponsor me for the U.S. Open. I thought it would be appropriate to write a review of Magic Chalk.

Previously, I have been using one of the other leading chalks, which I thought to be the best on the market. However, I have now been using Magic Chalk for almost a week. I have yet to miscue, and I do not remember having a ball skid on me yet. The chalk sticks well on the tip, and does not cake up like some of the other brands. Chalk marks on the cue ball are easily wiped off, and are not sticky or messy. Honestly, this might be the best chalk I have ever tried. I am glad to be sponsored by such a high quality product. Thank you RJ and Magic Chalk.

Sincerely,

Mike Wong

P.S. If anyone is interested in purchasing Magic Chalk they can contact ChicagoRJ or send an email to shootpool2004@yahoo.com

It's apparent you really like magic chalk but there are alternatives that work every bit as well........frankly, chalk is over-rated as long as you regularly and properly apply chalk which the vast majority of pool players either do not know how to do or else fail to do. All this bullshit about chalking less is an invitation for shot failure........it's critical for a player to develop and stick to a pre-shot routine and that includes chalking your cue tip....... you can play with Masters, Kamui, Triangle, Blue Diamond. Lava, MC, or any brand chalk you prefer and as long as you regularly & properly chalk, the performance will be identical.......the only difference will be chalk residue from these various brands that result from the formulation & composition of the chalk.....and we all know some are much cleaner than others........personally, I chalk every other shot and I use Blue Diamond........I have tried MC and there was no difference whatsoever.......again, I apply chalk properly (no coring on my chalk) and frequently....every other shot all the time......that's my pre-shot routine.........MC doesn't perform any differently than Blue Diamond.......if you want to shoot 6- 7- 10 shots without chalking....make it 15....go ahead......now that's a pre-shot routine I'd love to see.......chalk every 6 shots sometimes, maybe 8 or 9 the next time.....or 4-5 sometimes......no thanks, as long as you chalk frequently & correctly, then pretty much any chalk will do, aside for the flaking & residue aspects of some brands.

FACT JACK BEST CHALK ON PLANET DOES NOT GET ALL OVER SHAFTS,TABLE,CUE BALL! ENOUGH SAID, AWESOME CHALK WITH FANTASTIC GRIP PROPERTIES!!

It's the only chalk I've used that was noticeably better than all the others I've used. I've gone between Master an Silver Cup and never really picked a favorite. I got Magic Chalk about a month ago and now have a favorite chalk.

I must admit: I didn't expect to notice a difference in chalk, but I have.

I used Master Chalk for a long time, and since my green table is due for a cloth change, I went ahead and switched to blue Balabushka chalk that was a gift given to me many years ago.

Despite regular chalking, I began miscuing with some regularity. I hadn't with the Master chalk.

I decided to try the Magic Chalk. I haven't miscued yet, but wasn't really prone to that (until the Balabushka chalk). I have noticed that it wipes off the CB more easily, but the biggest difference seems to be the amount of spin I can impart to the CB. I honestly think there's more friction there with this chalk than Master or Bushka. There have been no changes to the tip, cloth, or balls. I'm actually having to adjust for more draw now.

(I was not given the chalk, or anything else, in exchange for the review, by the way.)

Well I finally got a hold of a few cubes of this stuff & feel compelled to give it a review.

I know many have talked about the lack of needing to chalk as much with this brand but that really didn't interest me as I'm going to chalk after each shot. I was impressed with other factors that do interest me. The grip of this stuff is freaking amazing, seemingly creating a sensitivity of feel between the tip & the rock. This alone makes the price of admission a value to me. It's also remarkably cleaner than any chalk I've ever used. Lastly something that never crossed my mind but intrigued me is the "feel" of it as you apply it, hard to describe but somehow oddly comforting.

I've seen comments in certain threads about validity of it being made in Russia & question of where it actually is made. All I can say is I don't care if RJ is shipping this stuff in from the 9th ring of hell, I'm sold. Really good stuff here.
