I don't want to post any names without permission but here is some info about the Waterville area.
I've been in Maine for a few months now but don't know any players in Bangor. There are some good shooters in Waterville, I hear TJ's Classic Billiards on the Airport road has some fine shooters. I play in an 8 and 9 ball tourney every Sunday at the American Legion in Oakland, from what I have gathered the 3 consistent winners there can compete with anyone in the state. It's only about an hour drive from Bangor and the tourney starts at 1:00pm, they open at noon and ask every one to enter by 12:45. 9-ball tourney starts right after the 8-ball tourney ends.
It's a fun day, 8-ball is usually partners and 9-ball is singles. 8-ball draws 20- 26 players and 9-ball draws 10-20 players.
