Mali cue, need advice

I was wanting advice on a Mali cue stick somebody was offering to sell me that I have interest in, they are asking $280. It has the Green Valley logo, the original wood shaft that is not shown, and also a homemade carbon fiber shaft. The shaft is 11.8 mm, and the wood shaft is 13 mm. It is in very good shape for its vintage and I am wondering what you think about the price for this arrangement? Please help, I only have today to think about it. Thank you, senior Tom.

I'm not an expert on Mail cues, But $280 with a carbon fiber shaft seems worth it. If i remember correctly Mail's joints were 5/16x14 thread.

That cue looks like 3/8 10. It seems like a fair deal if you are looking for a solid playing cue.

Mali offered both joint screws and I believe one of the first to do the 5/16x14 quick release.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate them. I'm not sure what the threads are on the PIN, I would have to go by others advice. I have had some extra time to put the cue into service and am liking it quite well. I shoot well with it and like having the option of an 11.8mm shaft as opposed to my 12.75mm Cynergy Cuetec. I feel like I can get into tighter spaces with the thinner shaft and am adapting well to it. A 13 mm wood shaft is also going to be included in this deal, but I haven't got that yet from the guy. When I pay him I will be receiving the wood shaft. This person is repairing another carbon fiber shaft that has been a bit damaged on the ferrule and tip.

Thanks for all the responses, I really loved the stick, but my shooting partner needed a stick with a carbon fiber shaft so I let him buy it. I miss it actually, and wish I still had it for myself, but I let my friend have it. I felt he needed it more than I did.

Mali used 5/16x14 and 18 and 3/8x10. The 14 seem to have been used the least from the gazillion of them I've seen.

In place of the one I did not buy, I purchase the green Merry Widow in the attached photo.

As an older player, I like the looks of those old classic designs. Some of the Mali's I've hit with over the years were pretty good cues for the price point. Often the woods used were beautiful. Solid design.
