Mali Green Label, Merry Widow Cue; EXC; Great Shooter! Low $ Meucci & Huebler Threads
Here is a USA-made, green-label Mali merry widow cue, having a round rubber bumper that appears identical to the early Meucci, pill-style bumpers. The finish on the Butt is as nice as you're likely to see, as well as the wrap being in impeccable condition!
This cue features a unique, brass collar, and has 5/16 x 18 threads. I screwed on a couple of my Meucci Original shafts, and they fit perfectly! This is a light cue, with the Butt weighing 14.1 oz., and the shaft weighing 3.4 oz., for a total weight of 17.5 oz. The shaft measures 12.4 mm at the top of the ferrule, or base of the tip.
This cue moves balls around with ease, and the hit is smooth and lively. If I had to be critical in any way, there is a negligible about of taper roll in the shaft, and the tip is older and will eventually need replacement. But overall, this is a really nice shooter; the butt & shaft of which roll straight, whether separately or assembled.
This cue would be perfect for a league or bar shooter that doesn't want to bring out an expensive cue, but wants quality performance. The butt, alone, is worth the price of admission, and could be used by someone wanting a lighter option for their butt-heavy Meucci Originals or Huebler cue, without having to modify them by replacing or removing the weight bolt.
