 Is there any difference besides looks on a straight maple, curly maple or birdseye maple forearm? Thanks!

Yes there is a difference.
strongest starting with Straight grain maple, next birdseye then curly.

Another difference is that you rarely find straight grained maple handle wood with 20 to 30 growth rings per inch. Usually that wood will be used for veneers or shafts. But you often find birdseye maple with that tight of grain. So tight grained birdseye makes one of the best playing forearms.
